Home Automation

Home automation is an innovative way of providing improved security and enhanced control over gas and electricity usage within the household.

Recent advancement in technology has allowed developers to harness the mobile internet and home Wi-Fi to literally put into your hands, the ability to control your light and heating system using a smart device. So whether you are at home, at work or at play, you are able to control your light switches, power sockets and heating for individual rooms using your iOs or android mobile device. This exciting technology will allow homeowners to manage energy consumption more effectively, while at the same time providing the opportunity to save money and reduce environmental impact.

In addition to energy saving, home automation provides a relatively inexpensive solution for improved security within the home. A number of companies have successfully developed products which allow for the integration of your home alarm system, cameras and mobile devices, allowing you to remotely monitor your property, even answering your doorbell and seeing who is at your door via a smart device from anywhere in the world.

Here at Future Wiring, we are excited to offer you this technology and we install not only the most popular home automation systems but the most reliable such as LightwaveRF, Nest, Loxone, Lutron, and Control 4.

Installation of a home automation system is possible by one of two solutions, retrofitting or a Programmable Logic controller.

Retrofitting allows faster access to home automation with a shorter installation process involving minor changes to your light switches and plugs sockets without the need for new cabling, you could be up and running in no time controlling your home on your mobile. While Retrofitting is a cheaper and speedier option, it is limited to wi-fi use only.

A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) however, works via Wi-Fi but the installation also includes the hard wiring of a PLC panel into your home from which you have additional control over your home.
